KIDS ROOM : IT SHOULD BE WELL FURNISHED

We build homes on according to our plans and interests. Children have their own interests and dreams about their rooms, but we shouldn't consider their ideas while making a new house. We should remember one thing before setting their room. As they are growing, their ideas and interests also will change accordingly. So we should furnish their room considering all these facts and can be changed easily.

Here are some tips to arrange our kid's room :-

  • Paints to be chosen
Bright colours are very good for their rooms.Their rooms should be fully brightened. If the child likes dark colour we can paint one side of the walls with dark colour. Door should be painted with a good colour.
  • As the children will draw pictures or other drawings,so it is advisable to paint their rooms with easily washable paints. It is good to use wall paper instead of paints in their rooms.
  • Furniture to be used
As the chidren will grow faster,so we should select their furniture with our own considering their tastes and opinions. The curtains, bed sheets, pillow covers etc should be colourful and should have some cartoon pictures in it. It is better to avoid glass furniture in their rooms. We should select long lasting furniture to their rooms. It is different in taste, colour, ideas  among boys and girls ,so we should consider that also before arranging their rooms. Girls like dolls, soft toys etc and boys like vehicles, spiderman etc.
  • Furniture, where to be placed
Now it is available in markets different varieties of furniture for children with reasonable price. So it is not advisable to use teak like wood for making their furniture because they are growing, their ideas also will change. So we should use fibre or combusted wood for their furniture. Chidren should get more light where they read and write. So we should place the study table near the window because fresh air and light give more energy and power to their studies.

WORDS,WORDS AND MORE WORDS

WORDS,WORDS AND MORE WORDS!

What is the most powerful tool your child needs for their successful development?
It is is language, of course. It is words that let us think, create ideas and reason.A rich vocabulary leads to high levels of reasoning and creativity, and skill in communication.
A child may not be able to start picking up language skills too early. It may be acquired largely through meaningful interaction between the child and adults .Keep talking to them , and take time to tell them stories and recite rhymes.Tell her what is going on when something is happening. We should talk to the child about the things in the surroundings -- whether  it's a dog,or a flower,or a butterfly. The more you share ideas together ,the more your child will learn.

Reading out stories is another fruitful way to develop language skills.Another tip is to talk about what you are doing. "I am going to make breakfast now. What shall we have today?" "Come on,watch me scrape carrots for dinner!" Such conversations can be very effective because the child can actually associate words with seeing their meanings in action.

Don't make a fuss if your child makes mistakes while they talk. It is not a sin ,after all,if your child says, "I goed to temple yesterday." You could correct them indirectly by saying,"Oh you went to the temple? Very good!"

Nursery rhymes, action songs, word games etc are all effective tools to develop a child's language skills. Let your child speak, speak.......

MANAGING SHYNESS IN CHILDREN

Children are often shy in front of new people, and this is perfectly normal behavior. Between the ages of 3 and 5 years,a child faces many new social experiences, and each time, his or her social confidence is challenged.Shyness is even less frequent as a child approaches 5 years. However, his or her social confidence is still likely to be hit by sudden thoughts like that his or her clothes are ugly ,or that she or he wouldn't know what to say.But with your help ,the child can recover quickly. The first tip perhaps is, never belittle your child when he or she feels shy. The child needs your support, not ridicule.

Here are a few tips on handling shyness:-

* Give children plenty of opportunities to mix with others.
*  Arrange for structured activities with adult supervision, where the child feels more secure.
*  Don't draw attention to the child's shyness, and try to distract his or her attention, pointing out something or switching your talk to a new topic.
*  Never be harsh while trying to get  your child out of shyness.

Almost every child is shy sometimes and all the child needs is that you should be near, and be strong and supportive.

JACK FRUIT

Enormous and prickly on the outside, jackfruit looks somewhat like durian (though jackfruit is usually even larger). Once a jackfruit is cracked open, what you will find inside are pods or "bulbs". Often referred to as the seeds, these bulbs are actually a kind of fleshy covering for the true seeds or pits, which are round and dark like chesnuts. The fleshy part (the "bulb") can be eaten as is, or cut up and cooked.

If using fresh jackfruit, it's a good idea to oil your knife and hands first before cutting, as the fruit is very sticky.

Jackfruit contains many vitamins and minerals, and offers numerous health benefits. It is said that it has cancer-fighting properties, especially the seeds. It is also known to help cure ulcers and indigestion.
